  • You know the soviet union also funded the arts – propaganda arts… when government start to fund the arts, it CAN but become propaganda art as those individuals in government go there for political reasons and they want to spread their ideology – and it simply becomes the worst form of cronyism with them funding their favorite "messengers"

  • She's an artist. Not a politician.
    The US doesn't have unlimited resources. You can't just float the bill so the entire world can have "the arts". And let's be honest, most things considered art today are just heavily commercialized regurgitations of last generations creations. And without non art people making money to buy midlers art, it would be pretty worthless to create art for anything besides just the act of making art and appreciating it free of charge.
    For president you say? No… that's asinine. Regardless, she was obliviously kidding but it's interesting the title suggests it's possible.
